Industrial Age is the important period of the process of Urbanization in England and Wales. Since the 1960s, research on urban development has been main topic of many scholars. As an important part of urban system in the industrial period of England and Wales, small towns had a unique position and role in the process of urbanization, but specialized research on the history of small towns, but a late start.
