In recent decades, with the further development of China’s economic globalization and market economy, the international commercial activity of Chinese enterprises is becoming more and more frequent. The business English correspondence, as one of the major instruments for business communication, has become increasingly important as a result of its particular role in international business trades. Based on a combination of the classical politeness theory and business English correspondence, this paper aims to analyze the realization of politeness strategies in business English correspondence, especially the application of positive and negative strategies, allowing people to make the best of these strategies to optimize the communication effect and to achieve their goals in the international business trade.
