Based on the Chinese-English parallel corpus of Everlasting Song of Sorrow, this paper researches the feature of strengthening in the application of adverbs of degree in translation. After counting and analyzing we find that the English version is indeed characterized by obvious strengthening, and from the perspectives of the features of adverbs of degree, the requirement of English idiomatic dictation, the emphasis on the tragic figure and the consideration of target readers’ reading habits, the paper has explained the reasons for strengthening.
