Since the Chinese government proposed the establishment of a “Silk Road Economic Belt” and a “Maritime Silk Road” in September and October, 2013, many scholars have done lots of researches from different angles. “Belt and Road” is to be chorus of all countries along routes, not solo for China itself, so it’s very important to know other countries’ perspectives about this initiative. It’s widely held in the academic circle that “One Belt One Road” initiative is respond to US Asia-Pacific rebalancing strategy and it’s very effective. Therefore, this essay selected the reports of the New York Times and the Washington Post related about “One Belt One Road” as research texts to analyze US Media discourse, from the perspectives of agenda setting, linguistic application, sources and orientations of information, using text analysis method and framing analysis method. And this essay showed there is cooperation space between China and US, but it needs joint efforts of both sides.
