This study investigates the “recreation” in the translation practice from the linguistic and social cultural perspective. It is found that the “recreation”, as a choice of translation strategy made by the translator, is manipulated by the linguistic factors and social culture. The “recreation” in translation, therefore, is inevitable and certainly in need, but it should be made moderately and carefully with consideration of the original writer’s speech right, language freedom and source language features. The translator needs to duly respect the dignity of mother tongue to avoid kitsch in translation.
